A 14 meter wide four lane double bridge will be constructed at Nalastop Chowk in Pune
This will be the first double flyover of its kind in Pune.
Pune: Work on Mahametro’s double flyover at Nalastop Chowk will begin by the end of November. The 14 meter wide four-lane bridge will be connected to the center of the metro pillars. This will be the first double flyover of its kind in Pune.
This will reduce the traffic congestion at Nalastop Chowk. It will start from Sonal Hall and end a little further from SNDT College. Its length is about 350 meters. It will be high in the middle and sloping on both sides. The bridge will be used by all motorists who do not want to go on the sidewalk adjacent to Karve Road. There will be 7 meter wide bridges on each side from the pillars of the metro. It has two parts each, a total of four parts. Each part is three and a half meters wide. The pool will be open to four-wheelers as well as two-wheelers.
The height of the bridge is 8 meters from the ground. There is a bridge over it and then a subway over the bridge again. Therefore, while the metro is running from above, vehicles will be passing through this bridge and at the same time traffic will be on the road.
Attachments for the bridge are currently being removed from the metro poles. A slab of concrete will be laid on it with girders. Currently, girders have been brought to the side of the road. Work will begin soon. All the work of laying the slabs of the metro line on the poles was done at night. Mahometro plans to do this at night as well. — ///
The Corona layoffs and consequent labor shortages disrupted the Metro’s overall work schedule. Now the laborers have returned and the work has gained momentum. Work on the bridge will begin by the end of November. The work will be completed in about 6 months.

Mahametro and the Municipal Corporation are working together. It is expected to cost Rs 35 crore. NMC has given the first share of Rs. 8 crore. The work of the bridge has been planned by Mahometro and efforts are underway to make it the most attractive bridge in Pune.
