A firing incident outside the Juhu residence of renowned Bollywood director Rohit Shetty has created a major security concern in Mumbai. The incident occurred while Rohit Shetty was present inside his house. Fortunately, no one was injured in the firing.
Following the incident, Juhu Police immediately reached the spot and began an investigation. Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Considering the seriousness of the case, the investigation has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
CCTV Footage Under Scrutiny
According to police sources, preliminary investigation suggests that a single individual carried out the firing. CCTV footage from the area shows the accused walking while firing outside the residence. Based on this evidence, the Crime Branch has formed 12 special teams to track down those involved. Police are also probing possible links to criminal gangs.
Statement of Rohit Shetty Recorded
The Crime Branch has recorded Rohit Shetty’s statement as part of the investigation. Officials are enquiring whether he had received any prior threats and if he suspects anyone in connection with the incident. All possible angles that could assist the investigation are being examined.
Four Accused Detained from Pune
In a major breakthrough, Pune Police have detained four accused from the Warje and Karvenagar areas in connection with the firing incident. Preliminary information suggests that the detained individuals may be linked to a gang operating in different parts of the country. The four accused will be handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further interrogation.
The investigation is currently underway on all fronts, and police officials have stated that more details are likely to emerge as the probe progresses.
