Pune: A massive fire broke out near Shivar Chowk in the Pimple Saudagar area of Pimpri-Chinchwad during the early hours of Monday, causing widespread panic among local residents. The blaze, which erupted around 2 a.m., engulfed multiple shops in the vicinity. The initial investigation suggests the cause of the fire might be a short circuit.
Upon receiving information, fire brigades promptly arrived at the scene, and local police were deployed for rescue operations. Firefighters worked tirelessly to control the fire and successfully prevented it from spreading to nearby structures. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in this incident.
In another incident the same day, a massive fire broke out in a photo studio located on the ground floor of a 5-storey building in Pune’s Bavdhan area. The fire was reported at 5:50 p.m., causing injuries to seven individuals who were immediately hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
An official from the fire brigade stated, “We received a call at 5:52 p.m. Five fire tenders were dispatched to the location to extinguish the flames. The photo studio was completely gutted by the fire.”
Visuals from the scene showed plumes of smoke billowing into the sky as the fire raged. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after an intense operation. The cause of the fire in the Bavdhan incident is still under investigation.
Both incidents have raised concerns about fire safety measures in commercial establishments in the city. Authorities have urged local businesses to adhere to safety protocols to prevent such mishaps in the future.
