Pune, February 4, 2025: To improve traffic movement in Viman Nagar, the Pune Traffic Police have introduced temporary changes on an experimental basis. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amol Zende has provided details regarding these adjustments.
Key Traffic Updates
- The Viman Nagar Chowk Junction has been temporarily closed to facilitate circular traffic movement between Phoenix Mall (Viman Nagar Chowk Junction) and Somnath Nagar Chowk.
- Vehicles traveling from Viman Nagar to Pune must take a left turn from Viman Nagar Chowk, make a U-turn at Somnath Nagar Chowk, and proceed towards their destination.
- Vehicles coming from the city towards Pune and heading to Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar should take a U-turn in front of Agnibaaz Gate before proceeding to their destination.
Public Feedback Invited
Citizens can submit their suggestions or objections regarding this traffic change in writing to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police by February 15, 2025. DCP Amol Zende has assured that the final decision, excluding essential service vehicles, will be made after carefully considering public feedback.
These changes aim to decongest traffic in Viman Nagar and enhance road safety. Residents and commuters are encouraged to follow the new routes and provide feedback for effective traffic management.
