Ashwin Bowls His Last Over in International Cricket
Indian cricket fans got a bit of a shocker on Wednesday. Our very own spin wizard, R Ashwin, has announced his retirement from all international cricket. The 38-year-old off-spinner, known for his clever bowling and knack for taking wickets, decided to hang up his boots after the drawn third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Ashwin has been a big name in the Indian cricket team for many years. He’s famous for his variations – you know, the carrom ball and all – which made life tough for batsmen everywhere. He’s taken loads of wickets in Test matches, ODIs, and T20s, and has been a real match-winner for India.
While he only played one match in this last series against Australia, taking one wicket, Ashwin’s contribution to Indian cricket is huge. He’s one of the best spinners we’ve ever had, and he’ll definitely be remembered as a legend of the game. Fans will surely miss seeing him bamboozle batsmen on the field.
