1 . Maasa :
Maasa is a tiny, seven table eatery located at Mundhwa quite like a rustic village dhaba. They serve various thalis, all very reasonably priced. We opted for the Chicken Special Thali and the Surmai Rawa Fry Thali. For the surmai thali we were expecting a slice of surmai but we were amazed when our plate had a whole baby surmai, rawa fried. Our non-vegetarian hearts somersaulted in glee. Both the thalis had one dry non-vegetarian item and one bowl of gravy. Two bajra (or jowar) bhakris and a bowlful of rice are also a part of the thali. The bhakris are made in a way similar to that as made in villages dotting the Deccan region, over a wood fire. If you can handle a no-frills place, then this one will not disappoint. Maasa is best one Seafood special hotel in Pune.

2 . Masemari – The Fishing (Seafood special hotel in Pune)
An old favourite in Sadashiv Peth, has been around for a while. They have a mix of Mangalorean, Goan and Kalyan dishes. The extensive menu has a lot of the preparations which can be customisable with a fish of your choice. The seafood is fresh and the Butter Garlic Crispy Fish Fry is crispy with fried garlic on top. In `masala’ dishes, you have fish in Kolhapuri Masala, Mumbai, Konkani, aambat, hooman and zanzanit styles. They basically range from the less spicy to the really fiery and the texture goes from thin to thick. The taste was spot on but felt that in most cases the masala overpowered the meat.
