Pune Metro is set to expand its reach with the commercial opening of Yerwada Metro Station on 21st August 2024. With this launch, the entire Line 2 section, stretching from Vanaz to Ramwadi, will become fully operational, significantly enhancing connectivity across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The new station will operate from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, making it convenient for daily commuters, including students, professionals, and residents of Yerwada. The improved connectivity will be particularly beneficial for those traveling to schools, colleges, and IT hubs.
Yerwada Metro Station stands out with its unique facade, inspired by the historic Dandi March, symbolizing an important chapter in India’s freedom movement. This design choice reflects the station’s dual role as both a crucial transport link and a tribute to the nation’s rich heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are glad to announce the opening of Yerwada Metro Station, marking a significant milestone in our journey to provide efficient and convenient public transport to the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.”
