Pune Metro invites bids to start paid parking at 8 metro stations

Get ready to pay for parking at eight metro stations as Pune Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Pune Metro) has called for bids to start this service at eight stations on Metro Line 2.

Officials said the service started at Anand Nagar metro station about a month ago.

Soon, pay-and-park options will be available at:

  • Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) station,
  • Sant Tukaramnagar,
  • Phugewadi,
  • Bopodi,
  • Shivajinagar,
  • Civil Court on Pune Metro Line-1;
  • Ideal Colony
  • Mangalwar Peth/RTO.

For two-wheeler riders, the parking fee is ₹8 for an hour and ₹12 for two hours, with an extra ₹5 for storing their helmets in the designated area.

Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director, Public Relations Department said, “We have parking at 15 stations, and now we plan to start pay-and-park services at eight of them. The service is running well at Anand Nagar metro station, and we have not received any complaints so far.”

All parking areas have facilities like boom barriers, concrete flooring, lighting, and CCTV cameras. Extra features like app-based parking booking and display boards showing parking availability are also included. The charges include GST.

Moreover, passengers with a valid metro ticket dated the same day will get a 25% discount on parking fees. Monthly subscription passes are available for travelers with metro travel passes.

Parking rates:

  • 1 hour: ₹8
  • 2 hours: ₹12
  • 3-6 hours: ₹23
  • 7-24 hours: ₹45
  • Overnight: ₹45
  • Monthly pass: ₹1,250
